John Dale Skaggs, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in Perris, California from injuries and complications related to a fall. He was born on February 24, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to William Dale Skaggs and Hazel Corine Nall who are both now deceased. He was a graduate of Pacific High School which was located in San Bernardino, California. He lived most of his life in Laguna Beach, California. He is survived by his son Arrow Skaggs, his daughter Meaghan Skaggs Hoggan (Ron), his sister Connie Chambers (Keith-now deceased), and his six grandchildren; Alix-Skaggs Rauschendorfer (Tyler), Cassidy Skaggs, Kaitlyn Hoggan, Mckenzie Hoggan, Maxwell Hoggan, and Garrett Hoggan.
John was a talented artist and jeweler. He made and sold his creative rings and barrettes at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna for 45 years as well as many other street shows in town and around Orange County. John's jewelry was one of the most popular at the Sawdust but he is most well known for being a great salesman and showman with a witty sense of humor and charming smile. He was passionate about art, music, beautiful views and sunsets, and loved being with friends and family. John was outgoing, funny, kind, always willing to help a friend and generous to a fault.
As a family we would like to thank all those who have reached out to us to express their condolences and share fond memories and stories of Johnny. He truly left this earth too soon and has left us with many wonderful memories but a great sense of loss as well. We hope he will live on in your hearts as he does in ours.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
