Joseph Dattilo

Giuseppe “Joseph” Dattilo was born July 4,1936 in Cosenza, Italy.He moved to Rome at the ripe old age of 14. He started as an apprentice and became a Master tailor at the age of 19. He attended the best cutting schools in Rome. Castellucci and Santarelli in Via Francesco Crispi where he got his diploma. At 19 he opened his own shop and was the youngest coat maker in Rome.

He moved to The United States in the 1950’s. Eventually making his way to Anaheim where he opened his men’s clothing store “The Palace of Dattilo.”

He met the love of his life Maria Caterina Nanci and they soon married in 1961. They had 3 children.(The youngest was the best and was the one whom Joseph loved.)

The family moved to Hemet in 1974 and opened a clothing store. In 1976 Joseph became a Born again Christian and his love of the Lord was seen and shared by him on a daily basis. In 1989 Dattilo Ristorante was opened. This was Joseph’s dream. The ristorante was his happy place. Almost as much as the golf

course.

He is survived by his 3 children Rosario “Rino” and Brenda, Monalisa and Andrew, Marcantonio and Teresa. Grandchildren Marialisa, Justina, Caterina, Emilia, Giulia, Micaela,Lisamaria and Giuseppe.

Great Grandchildren Gia, Gemma, Joey, Agostino, Dean, Pearl, Nunzio, Eleonora, Florence, Vinnie, Enzo and Rome. His brothers Achille and Annunziatto and Marinella. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria, Great grandchildren Giada and Giacomo.
