Joseph Edward Mills

Joseph “Joey” Edward Mills, 31, passed away at his home unexpectedly Sunday afternoon on June 26, 2022, losing his life-long battle to severe asthma. He is preceded by his grandmothers Billie Jean Davis and Blanca Julia Gomez. Joey is survived by his parents Rosemary Gomez and Edward Mills, his younger sister Julie Mills, and his only daughter Bella Jean Mills. Along with his aunts, uncles, his cousins who were just the same as siblings, his nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Our beloved Joey was born on September 15, 1990, in Hemet, California, where he also grew up. He graduated from Hemet High School after only his sophomore year. He had such an intelligent and articulate mind. He was immensely hard working and a providing father. He had been working in the Solar Energy industry for 10 years, prior to, he had worked at Stater Bros. for over 5 years.

Joey always held a positive perspective on life. His smile and laugh were contagious. He was such a burst of energy and full of adventure. He loved fishing and skateboarding, especially along the beach where he considered to be his second home. He enjoyed going to concerts and expressing himself through music, art, and creativity. He loved to be around family and friends, being together was very important to him. Most of all, he adored spending quality time with his daughter, Bella Jean. Joey will forever be in our hearts.

His services will be held on Saturday July 16, 2022, at the Miller Jones Mortuary on W. Florida Ave. There will be a viewing from 12pm-2pm, followed by the service from 2pm-3pm.
