Kenneth Wayne Lord

Kenneth Wayne Lord, age 84, of Hemet passed away Monday, January 02, 2012. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Lord and their 3 sons Kenneth, Larry and David, and his daughter in laws, Candy, Mary Jo and Patty Lord and his two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Lord. He is also survived by two brothers in laws: Ray Berkley of Hemet, Ca and Ed Berkley of Beaumont, Texas along with their families and two cousins Dick and Victor Resar of Grafton, Ohio. Ken was born in Elyria, Ohio in 1927. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and received training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Chicago, IL. After the War ended Ken attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio where he met his future wife, Marjorie, at a Toppers Club dance (for those especially Tall people!), the rest they say was History. Ken and Marge were married in Ravenna, Ohio in 1950 and Ken got a job with Sun Oil Company that took them from Ohio to Maryland, to Pennsylvania and back to Ohio. Each of their sons were born in different states. In 1969, Ken and Marge moved to Hemet to be closer to their parents and have been in the Inland Empire ever since. After moving to California, Ken was employed by Cooper Tire and retired from there in 1986. Ken was a Mason, a Shriner, loved his family and community. He was also an avid sports fan, loved to travel, and had a passion for reading. Ken had been on Hospice since May of 2011 and was lovingly attended to by a variety of nurses and caregivers.Arrangements are entrusted to the care of McWane Family Funeral Home, 350 N. San Jacinto St., Hemet, Ca where the funeral service will be on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10:00A.M. Graveside service will follow at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery 2555 S. Santa Fe Ave., San Jacinto, Ca.
