A thirty plus year resident of Hemet, Ken was a kind and generous person who was always available to help anyone in need. He is survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren & 1 “adopted” teenager.
He always enjoyed aviation, owning two airplanes at different times in his life. Working in the aviation industry his entire career he started as a power plant mechanic during WWII and retiring as a Design Engineer for Lockheed. During WWII he was stationed at the Naval Air Base on the island of Tinian as an Aviation Mechanic.
His work took him to Iran and Greece for two years each. While in Iran he became very involved in the American Legion, China Post 1, where he volunteered as the Chaplin. In both countries, he and his wife would sponsor gatherings about once a month in which fellow workers and friends from many other companies would gather and have huge potlucks. These international gatherings offered everyone a change to get acquainted and enjoy a variety of international foods. Although these gatherings were many years ago, these people, from around the world stayed in contact and on occasion would come to visit.
He was a Christian man who was very involved in the church youth groups and as an elder in the church while he lived in Norwalk and Auburn, CA. Although in his later years he wasn’t involved in the church as much as his earlier years, he was always deeply religious and never gave up on his beliefs.
He passed away peacefully under Hospice Care on February 7, 2020.
