Kevin - Butler

Kevin was the second child of five children.

Kevin’s early education was in Bronx, New York and he completed his education in the public school system, when his family relocated to Los Angeles, CA in 1972.

Kevin was a natural athlete and played many sports. He excelled particularly in basketball, football and swimming. Like his elder brother, he too received many awards and accolades acknowledging his exceptional athletic abilities! After completing high school, he attended Trade Technical College, pursing a certificate in the field of welding. Shortly after, he obtained a job in this field and was gainfully employed for several years.

Kevin was adored by his family, and he was definitely a protector of them all. His humor and constant joke telling would render you weak from laughter 😂Kevin never met a stranger and would open his heart and home to many! His charming witty smile was always welcoming.

On December 2,1976 Kevin was blessed with a little baby boy of whom he chose to give his name to, Kevin Jr. Kevin Jr was the light of his dad, Kevin Sr’s heart ♥️ In 1981 Kevin met and married the love of his life, Diane Buckley and this union would last until his departure from this earth realm, for 44 years!

To this union another son and daughter were added bringing Kevin triple joy!

Kevin recently accepted Christ as being the Living God and embraced Christianity with love and understanding!

Kevin was preceded in death by his loving mother Mabel Butler, older brother Herbert and baby sister Clarice (who was just as witty as he was) 🥰

This beautiful loving soul will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish his jovial and loving memory,

His dear wife of 44 years, Diane. Three children, two sons, Kevin, Jr, and Darrell and one daughter, Lakeia, Of whom blessed him with 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren He also raised from birth one niece, Alexis and one nephew, Cameron. Two siblings' sisters Karen and Frieda (Earl) Three God children, and a plethora of In-Laws, nieces, nephews, cousins Aunts Uncles and dear friends ❤️

For I am already to be offered,

and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have kept the faith.

A memorial for Kevin will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory, 1501 W Florida Ave, Hemet, CA 92543, followed by a viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
