Larry Lee Lucas was born January 14, 1942 in Huntington, CA and passed away in his home on Jan 5, 2014 in Hemet, CA. He is survived by his mother, Alta Lee Lalli, two children, Matthew Lucas and Trina Bautista and two grandchildren, Emily Lucas and Ethan Bautista.
Larry had a long and reputable career in aerospace engineering for 30 years ultimately retiring from Moog out of Salt Lake City, UT. He was one of the lucky ones who absolutely loved his profession and was so proud of his projects. In addition, Larry held the honor and career accomplishment in taking part on a patent with his company.
As a young child, he was known to run every place and was quite thin. He was always strong in school and overall a great kid.
In addition to loving his family very much, Larry had passions for laughter, cooking and the outdoors. He was especially fond of fishing, camping, golf, classic cars and model airplanes. He had a magnetic personality that allowed him to befriend most anyone and a laugh that will be recalled by many. Those close to him could never escape his pranks or funny jokes. Most of all, Larry possessed an enormous heart and was known to help out anyone in need... A big teddy bear indeed. His baby blue eyes and endearing smile could melt your heart too.
Despite having some rough challenges in life after a terrible dirt bike accident, Larry thrived and did not let anything hold him back. His strength and endurance was admired by many. He lived life to its fullest and always proved it with a fun, outrageous, and exciting story to share.
On a great day, you would find Larry tinkering on his truck after a morning of gardening and while planning to cook a fabulous meal that evening. ( Let's not forget to note that he always had that paper towel hanging from his back pocket!)
There is no amount of time that could allow friends and family to share the joys of knowing Larry. He was a extraordinary man whose smile and laughter will live long in our hearts.
We will always love you.
