Lawrence L. "Bud" Bacon

Bud was born in Crosby, North Dakota where he lived until he was 19. He then attended Minot Teachers College for a year and moved to California where he worked in a ceramic shop for a couple of years. Bud was then drafted into the Army where he served for 4 years at Fort Polk, Louisiana. While he was in the Army he married the love of his life, Darlene. Upon discharge he moved to Santa Ana, California where they began their family. He began attending Parkview Community Church where his love for the Lord grew and he became active in the choir, was a deacon and an elder. He started taking classes at Santa Ana College where he received his AA degree. He then began working at the County of Orange as a Professional Licensed Surveyor. After 20 years he retired and started working at RBF. After living in Santa Ana for 32 years he moved to Murrieta where he became very active at Rancho Community Church in the choir, as an elder and with the missions. He was also very involved in Evangelism Explosion and Bethany Bible Studies. Then after 25 years of working at RBF, he retired.

Bud loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He went on many missions trips throughout his life including those to Russia, Uzbekistan, and Ecuador. He also enjoyed traveling with friends to various countries and states. He lived a long happy life with his wife of 57 years by his side.

Bud entered his heavenly home at the age of 81 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; four children, David Bacon, Don Bacon, Karyn Baumann, and Karla Stephens; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; eight siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bud was loved and respected by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at RCC in Temecula, CA on Friday, May 8 at 12:00pm

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lawrence's honor to The American Cancer Society.
