We mourn the loss of a beloved Mother, homemaker, and lover of life, who passed away on May 1st at the age of 89. Lina was born on November 10, 1933 in Austin, Texas and brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Lina Castro was the daughter of the late Pablo Arellano and the late Tomasa de Leon. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched. Lina was preceded in death by her husband Cervando Castro, her son Ernie Castro, daughter in law Debbie Ramos. Daughter in law Corina Castro, granddaughter Monique Louise Castro, her siblings Vincenta Barron, Johnny Rodriguez, Cruz Arellano, Rosa Arellano and Espirios Arellano.
Throughout her life, Lina held various jobs and pursued many interests, but her true passion was taking care of her family. She loved cooking delicious meals for her loved ones and spending quality time with them. Her warm and welcoming personality made everyone feel at home in her presence.
In her leisure time, Lina enjoyed going to the casino, especially to play Bingo. She also loved watching TV shows like Judge Judy, Price is Right, and Family Feud, as well as reading People magazines and the newspaper. Mexican music was her favorite genre, and it always brought a smile to her face.
Lina had a beautiful smile that lit up the room, and her wonderful spirit was infectious. Her kind heart and generous nature will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lina is survived by Samuel John Castro (Son), Robert Joseph Castro (Son), Margaret Stella Jimenez (Daughter), Yolanda Castro-Friday (Daughter), Rosemarie Castro-Hualde (Daughter), Freddy Castro (Son), Dolores Luna (Sister), 10 (Grandchildren), 4 (Great Grandchildren), 1 great (Great Great Grandchild) and other family members and friends. She will be forever missed and always remembered as a kind, loving, and caring person.
A visitation for Lina will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McWane Family Funeral Home, 350 N San Jacinto St., Hemet, California 92543. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will be officiated on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 630 South Santa Fe Avenue, San Jacinto, CA 92583. A graveside service will follow at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, 2555 S. Santa Fe Ave, San Jacinto, California.
