L. J. "Jay" Dawson, 85 of Sun City, California passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. He was born Thursday, May 23, 1929 in Litchfield, Michigan, he was the son of the late Theo Dawson and the late Gladys Andrus Dawson.
Jay was known for being a hard working man. He loved watching football and being with family and freinds. His family remembers him as being very family oriented, one of the things he loved most was golfing with his grandchildren. One of Jay's request in regards to his passing: Instead of purchasing flowers for his service, he asked that a "Good Deed" be done to a stranger.
Jay is survived by his wife of 65 years Norma (Roehrs) Dawson, son Jack Dawson (and wife Missy), daughter Jill Bechtold (and husband Robert), grandkids Mitchell Dawson, Matthew Dawson, Josh Bechtold and Ryan Bechtold. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kacie Bechtold.
