Lynette Ann Matthews, loved the beach and dancing. She loved life and enjoyed every minute of it. She was born in Dawson, Minnesota on Monday, June 26, 1944 to parents Herbert and Lou Ella Sampson. She left us too soon on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Hemet, California.
Lynn was known for her sweet spirit, loving and thoughtful ways. And although she was known for having great common sense, she loved to have fun. Her niece, Sandy remembers that her Aunt (Godmother), "Net" would wear Nancy Sinatra type Go-Go boots, as if "These Boots Are Made For Walking" was her anthem. But most of all, Lynn had a great heart for animals. An advocate for animal rescue, she was a member of the Humane Society and was mother to many pets over the years. Lynn enjoyed the outdoors; camping, boating, and fishing at her favorite destinations, whether it was Lake Hemet or the High Sierras.
Lynn enjoyed flexing her culinary skills; her turkey and vegetable soup were second to none, especially since she canned her own vegetables. Lynette also enjoyed home and online shopping. She bought as much as she could in her favorite color, purple.
Lynn will be dearly missed by her husband, Rolland. Feeling this deep loss, will be her brother, Gaylan, and his wife, Janet and her niece, Sandy and her husband, Jerome; nephew Jerry and his wife Aurelia. Additionally, there will be a host of other family members who will miss Lynn as well. And last but not least, the one who never left her side she will be missed by her canine companion, Peanut.
Lynn Matthews touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know her and who loved her.
The family will hold private services.
