Madonna Jean Smith

Madonna Jean Smith, age 71, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Madonna was born on Sunday, February 23, 1941 to Robert and Marcelle Fitzpatrick in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was an exceptionally skilled secretary for more than 30 years. Madonna was a giver, always taking care of others. She was the perfect Mother, so kind, compassionate, and caring. Madonna always made holidays extra special for her family, especially Christmas. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and taking care of her roses and hydrangeas. Watching hummingbirds was another thing she enjoyed and she has acquired a collection of trinkets from her family and friends.Madonna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Smith. She is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Smith and his wife, Sena, of Hemet, and her grandchildren, Tahnee and Scott Kneeland, Steven Brown, and Traci Brown. Graveside services are scheduled to begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, 2555 South Santa Fe Street, San Jacinto, CA 92582.Madonna touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know her and loved her.Entrusted to the care of McWane Family Funeral Home.
