Martha Gibson

Martha Josephine Gibson, 92 of Hemet, California passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at St Therese Home for the Elderly in San Dimas, California. She was born Friday, December 7, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Bird Eula " Manning" Newsome. Martha was married to the love of her life, Sam Gibson for 69 years. They traveled by taking many cruses during their retirement years. Martha worked at Macy's for over 13 years. It was the perfect job because she loved to shop and take advantage of the sales and employee bonus offers. Sam and Martha were very involved in the community playing golf as a couple, card games and took to the dance floor when there was an event. They liked to have friends over and entertain when they had the opportunity. Martha was the last of ten older siblings. Her family describe her as feisty, loving, caring and very family oriented. Surviving is her husband Sam Gibson, son Alan Gibson and his wife Robin, daughter Jan Harris and her husband Richard, grand children Chrissy Gibson, Scott Milden and Kevin Milden, great grandchild Kolby Sit.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Miller-Jones Hemet Mortuary, 1501 W Florida Ave , Hemet, California

A Funeral service will be at 12:45 PM on Friday at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, California 92518
