Mary Lou Ortega

Mary met and fell in love with Fernando Ortega and the two were married in 1962. Mary was a very good wife to her husband and mother to her children. Mary and Fernando celebrated 52 wonderful years together before his passing. They were a close and loving couple who went everywhere and did everything together. Later, Mary became a Bilingual Teachers Assistant for the Val Verde School District where she remained for ten years. She was 100% Catholic and a very spiritual woman who loved to pray. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, tending to pets and the outdoors. She always wanted to spend holidays and birthdays as a family. Mary loved to sing so much that she would spend the day singing her responses to her children.

Mary is preceded in passing by her husband Fernando Ortega, her sister, Monica and her parents, Ysidro and Angelita Gutierrez.

Mary leaves to cherish her loving memory, son, Arnold Ortega, daughters, Patricia Ortega, Veronica Ortega, Carolina Martinez (husband) Robert Martinez, Anna Maria Carlos (husband) Mike Carlos, brothers, Ysidro Gutierrez, Ricardo Gutierrez and Juan Gutierrez, sisters Angela and Magdalena, and six grandchildren.

There will always be a space in our hearts that only Mary could fill and we will miss her every day until we meet again.
