

Mary Suzanne Ramirez, 72 of Hemet , passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011, at home peacefully. Born September 15, 1938 in Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the wife of Peter Ramirez. Surviving her are mother Shirley Malone of Nova Scotia, daughter, Lauren Hood of Mission Viejo, CA; and granddaughter, Crystal Hood of Mission Viejo, CA. She was a member of the Hemet First Baptist Church and was involved in the Fellowship class. Mary was a real estate broker and had managed two large professional buildings in Long Beach, CA. When she moved to Hemet, she became a broker for Coldwell Banker. Mary was also a Shrinette at the local Shriners Club in Hemet . Mary and Peter traveled to Europe, the Panama Canal, Hawaii and the Caribbean. They also traveled extensively between California and Nova Scotia, putting over 70,000 miles on their RV. They spent many summers living in Nova Scotia, her place of birth. During this time, she became a member of the Eastern Stars. Mary was very social and loved animals, especially dogs. She loved to paint in oils so Peter built her an art room at the house to give her the space to be creative. She belonged to the Hemet Art Association. In addition, Mary liked to garden and she loved to observe the wildlife. She is described by her family and friends as giving, generous, gentle, vibrant and always enjoying life to the fullest. A private funeral service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 26089 Girard Street, Hemet, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to either The City of Hope or the Multiple Myloma Foundation.
