

Phillip pursued his education through the Los Angeles Unified School district in California. Phillip attended Phineas Banning High School in Wilmington, CA and graduated in the class of 1980. He continued his education at Harbor Community College where he earned his Associates of Arts degree. Phillip was employed at Epson Computer, Inc. for 15 years as an Informational Technology Technician, until he became disabled.
Phillip accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized at New Brighter Day Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA and served faithfully as a junior usher.
Phillip enjoyed being independent and gifted with a level of tenacity and resilience that allowed him to live life to the fullest. His hobbies included listening to music, watching TV, taking care of his fish aquarium, and playing dominos. Phillip was meticulous about his yellow Scion XB; therefore it was not unusual to see him detailing his car.
Family and friends can attest that Phillip had a magnetic personality; if you were honest, you would gain an amazing friendship that you would never forget. He will be especially remembered for his loyalty to family and friends.
Phillip lived in Compton, Carson and Long Beach, prior to relocating to Moreno Valley, CA in 2003.
Phillip Bently Brooks, Jr. departed this life on Wednesday April 2, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Bently Brooks, Sr. Phillip leaves to cherish his memory his mother Shirley Brooks, brothers Anthony, Jerry and Richard Brooks, his sister Angela Benson, sister-in-law Venessa Brooks, special friend Jewel Butts, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
