Ralph Edward Slater

Ralph Edward Slater passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, August 20th, 2024. He was born August 1st 1935 in Alhambra California to his loving parents, Herbert Slater and Edith Leggett.

As a young man he served in the Army from 1957 to 1959. Later he served on the San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce. He along with his wife served the San Jacinto valley for many years. Ralph and his “Barbie C” were an inseparable dual that loved their home and their community.

Ralph met his wife Barbara Carmen in 1986 in the city of Hemet where they fell in love and shared a beautiful life together. They were blessed with 34 years of marriage until sadly, Barbara passed away in 2022. They each had children of their own and they shared in the joy of a blended family. From that point on they became grandparents and great grandparents. After Ralph and Barbara began their life together, they started a real estate company. Ralph worked side by side with his wife at Wincher Surrey Real Estate until retiring. After retirement Ralph began to fulfill his dream of traveling, loving his many pets and spending time with his family. Ralph was known for his charisma, his political standing and his love for his family. He worked hard and played even harder.

Ralph leaves behind his grandchildren: Jamie Dean, Michael Welty, Emerson Slater, Erika Vaughn and Emily Bell. Great grandchildren; Arielle Ember, Starr Ferro, Daisy Davis, Ivee Slater, Eli and Liam Martinez, Izik Slater, Eric Bell. He is reunited with his Slater siblings, Bert, Jack, Charles, Marge and Barb. He also joins his wife Barbara, his son Eric and great granddaughter Pearl.

A celebration of life service for Ralph will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory, 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, California 92543. A reception to follow after in the Ramona Room. A graveside service will be at 1:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California 92518.
