

Richard Alan Snyder, 77, of Hemet, California passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, peacefully surrounded by family at his bedside.
He was born on Friday, December 27, 1940, in Torrance, California and was the son of the late Albert and Edith "Lutes" Snyder.
While growing up in Southern California, Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors at the beach, camping, fishing and bicycling. Richard graduated from Torrance High School in 1960 and went on to serve in the United States Army, spending nearly 2 years in Korea.
After returning home, he met and married his best friend and true love of his life, Bobbie, for 49 years until her passing in 2016.
He worked several years of his career as a Heliarc pipe welder, while later working in security services due to a neck injury.
Richard was an avid animal lover. Whether it was raising many dogs throughout the years (Beagles and Cocker Spaniels), adopting stray cats, bird watching and feeding, or constant viewing Animal Planet television shows, his love for creatures always brought a smile to his face. He also had a strong creative side, which included painting pottery, landscaping design and layout, and collecting unique and ornate items for his household. Daily you would also find him drinking a coffee and reading the newspaper. Additionally, he had a passion for Jeep vehicles. Always a fan of sports, including football, basketball, boxing and in later years, baseball (specifically the Los Angeles Angels). Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his wife going to movies, restaurants, casinos or just watching a good sci-fi or crime drama on television.
Richard is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Snyder who passed away in 1984. Surviving family includes his daughter Robin Litterst and her husband Don, son Adam Snyder and his wife Jennifer, brother William Snyder and his wife Linda, his sister Sharon Cole, and his five grandsons Nick Reece, Noah Hernandez, London Snyder, Sterling Snyder, and Desmond Snyder.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 7 at Miller-Jones Hemet Mortuary located at 1501 W. Florida Ave., Hemet, California 92543, with burial services following at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, CA.
