

Richard "Rick" James Vidlak, age 70, of San Jacinto, CA, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Hemet Valley Medical Center. Richard was born April 26, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of the late James Vidlak and the late Arvilla Marie (Keyes) Vidlak. Richard served our country proudly during Vietnam and followed his time in the Navy by working as a ramp supervisor in the Airline profession for 36 years, which became Delta Airlines upon retirement. After retirement he needed to do something else, so he decided to work for RTA's Dial-A-Ride upon which he worked with the people attending the Braille Institute and the people in EXCEED. Richard was a special kind of guy that would go an extra step to help people in need. Some of his hobbies included photography, wood working, vintage and sports cars, planting, and he also enjoyed being outdoors. Richard touched many lives throughout his time on this earth. He was a dedicated father and a great friend whose greatest joy in life was helping others no matter how well he knew them. He is loved by all who were blessed to have known him, and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his siblings Linda Vidlak and Victoria Garber.
He is survived by his fiance Linda G. Edwards, two daughters: Tamara Goodman, Madison, TN, Amanda Vidlak, Green Valley, AZ, and four grandchildren: Donovan Lakin, Wednesday Goodman, Drakelyn Tolbert and Angelika Tolbert.
