Richard Welton Woods Jr. (Rick), age 60, of Hemet, CA, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, due to unknown medical causes. He was doing one of his favorite activities, hiking, and died suddenly. Rick was born June 4, 1957 in California. He was the son of the late Richard Welton Woods, Sr and the late Jacqueline Diane (Phinney) Woods. Rick retired five years ago as Fleet Services Manager with EMWD where he worked for about 30 years. For the last five years, Rick did taxes for H & R Block and was a great asset to them. He was very talented and could fix anything mechanical, electrical or plumbing related. He was always willing to work for others and help out where needed. Some of his hobbies included rebuilding cars, hiking, biking, running, sailing, kayaking, watching sports and raising birds. He loved traveling, especially to Hawaii or going on cruises,
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Connie Woods, step daughter, Kimberly Sampson, two grandchildren Aiden and Gavin Sampson and sister, Diane Davis.
Memorial service will be held at Miller-Jones, Hemet, on Friday, August 18 at 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please wear something Hawaiian in memory of Rick.
