

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of James Richard Reguero (Rick). Rick passed away on February 18, 2025, at Riverside University Health Systems in Moreno Valley, California at the age of 60. Rick was born in Santa Ana, California. He grew up in Orange County.
Rick met his wife Laura in 1984, they were together for 41 years. Rick and Laura welcomed their two daughters, Heather and Whitney. They lived in Suncity and Hemet, California. In 1998, they worked and lived in Hemet.
Rick will be remembered for his unique qualities and the ability to fix anything. He spent his early years as a mechanic at a gas station and later became a tow truck driver. He then became a smog technician and later got back to working on cars again. This was his passion. He was a certified smog technician, ASE Master Auto Technician, Master Nissan and Hyundai Auto Technician.
He took pride in his work and also trained others in the field of automotive. He loved all music and spent most of his days listening to music and playing video games. He enjoyed going to concerts and loved his other home in Lake Havasu, Arizona. He loved being on the water driving his boat or jet skis. His love for cars and music were his favorite things in life. His other love was for dogs. He had two dogs that he loved so much, Penny and Lexi. Lexi was his current dog, and this dog went everywhere with him. If he left without her, she would cry the entire time.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Laura Reguero, daughters Heather Riley and son-in-law Micah Riley, daughter Whitney Hayward and son-in-law Trevor Hayward, one grandson Maverick James Hayward. Parents that preceded in death Father, Edward L. Reguero and Mother Lillie Chavez. His siblings include his sisters Debra Reguero-McKinnie, Shaon Pushkor and brother Tony Reguero, sister and brother in-law; Jennifer and David Shook, John and Rebecca Pennington, .9 nephews and 3 nieces.
