

Robert Lee Shelton, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, retired Air force Master Sargent, and businessman from Fallbrook, CA passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
Robert was born on Wednesday, August 19, 1931 in Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee; the oldest of 10 siblings. The son of Robert Washington and Kathleen Adcox, Robert joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and earned his GED in the military. He served 22 years in the Air Force and met the love of his life Dorothy while stationed in Wimpole Park AFB in England. He was stationed at Air Force bases in FL, CA, Spain, IL, Greenland, and AK. He worked in civil engineering. He retired from the Air Force at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, Illinois in 1973. Robert and Dorothy settled in Fallbrook, CA. He was married to Dorothy Shelton from Baldock, England for 59 years.
Robert loved playing slow pitch softball in the Air Force and the local Fallbrook Rocking Chair League. Robert "Bobo" loved working at Fallbrook Auto Parts and cheering on his grandkids and great grandson in softball and baseball.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert and daughter-in-law Jeanne from Lake Havasu City, AZ; a daughter, Corinne and son-in-law Mark from Bullfrog, UT; grandson, Clinton and Lisa from Menifee, CA; grandson, Brandon from Murrieta, CA; granddaughter, Chelsea from Oceanside, CA; granddaughter, April and Katie from Oakland, CA; granddaughter, Julie from Canyon Lake, CA ; and 1 great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or Wounded Warriors Project.
