

Robert “Bob” Simpson died on January 28, 2021 at 91 years of age. He was born May 13, 1929 to Harve and Pearl Simpson in Bushnell, Illinois. Bob joined the Army and was stationed for two years in Alaska. He traveled to California where he met his future wife, Patricia Brown. Bob had many interests, including camping, fishing, woodworking, gardening, cartooning, and writing poetry. Several poems were published in the Oasis Journals 2017 and 2018 editions. Bob was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Menifee Valley Writers Group and a die-hard Angels fan. Bob leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Patricia; three daughters, Teresa Cruise(Randy) of Nuevo; Sandra Moore (Craig) of Menifee; and Paula Weller (Roger) of Utah; eight grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren, and two step-greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Canevit and Betty Cernich, both of Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Sun City, with the rosary at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow on another day at the Mission San Luis Rey. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Covid guidelines: Please arrive early for temperature checks, use hand sanitizer, and bring your own chairs. Service will take place outside.
