Our family's beloved hero; A husband, a father, a grandpa, a great grandpa and a great man who could work so hard and yet be so gentle with a genuine smile. When I reminice of my grandfather I think of his character, his handshake, a hug, and most important that "genuine smile :blush:" it is the memory that lights up my day. Just to imagine how much he truly loved his life, his family, and his wife of 66 years. His vows to my Grandmother over these years is how every man should treat his wife. I am blessed as his Grandson to have a role in this life led with unconditional love and the leadership in knowing the difference between right and wrong. I am so thankful and forever in debt for the life that was given to me! I want to express so much gratitude to my grandparents for it is their "true love" that created this wonderful family which truly is a blessing. Since my Grandfather has passed, when I seek comfort, I look up to the sky, I feel that smile, and I smile back! I salute you Grandpa and we are here for Grandma! We love you both so much:heart:

We were blessed to have this wonderful man in our lives.   My grandfather was not just my grandpa, he was my hero.  He was the first and true Superman. He taught us what it meant to work for what you cared for.   It is hard to say goodbye to the one constant you could always count on.  I will always cherish my memories of him. Growing up we learned what "plate saddles" are  (pancakes), he always wore his dome doilies (ball caps), he used his "hand shoes" (pot holders) when taking out one of his delicious homemade pies from the oven.  He had a name for every "hoganite: you could think of.   I loved talking baseball with him, even though he was an Angles fan.  My grandfather was such an avid baseball fan, that he even wrote a poem to commemorate Mariano Rivera (Yankees pitcher). He loved poetry and writing poetry.  He was witty and funny.  His stories would make you laugh until you had tears.  Above all, my grandpa was a family man.  We all aspire to be as dedicated and loving as he was.  It is hard to continue this message, due to fact that I keep getting choked up.   All I can say is that my Grandpa was an awesome person and heaven is lucky to have him.  I love you and miss you Gramps.

We were all blessed to know the amazing Bob Simpson...our Writers Group's Poet Laureate.  Week after week, Bob would bring us a new poem, and each one was a gem.  I had never met a writer who could consistently paint an image in our minds, as he wove a picture through his words.  He was a master of his art.  I looked through my collection of Bob's poetry to pick out a favorite, but I could only narrow it down to about twenty-five pieces.  Historic...humorous...political...sentimental...each poem is pure perfection.  Bob was a simple and humble man, yet he was a genius at poetry.  Luckily, his love of writing was passed down to his daughters.  Terry and Sandra joined our Writers Group with their dad, and every week  I could see his pride as his girls were developing their skills at articulation in story-telling.  What a trait to have inherited from Daddy.  He has left a remarkable legacy!!!  Bob Simpson was one of a kind.  The whole room would light up whenever Bob was around...he was our sunshine.  Now the angels are spending time with Bob, listening to his poetry and being warmed by his charms. Maybe we will all meet again in Heaven.  Bob, you were a Godly man, a man of principles and purpose, a man who is loved, and a man who will be missed.  Bob Simpson...ALWAYS in our hearts!

I will always think of him as MY BOB our poet.   He was charming, funny and very intelligent.  His vocabulary and grasp of how to turn the mundane into a beautiful poem always astounded me.  You were blessed with very sweet daughters who you brought into our writers group.  I can see your influence and the fine job you did on Sandra and Terry.  You did well my friend, in all things.  I will cherish the memory of him and the pure pleasure on his face when we basically applauded his poetry.  He was quiet, unassuming and just plain fun to have around.  I know that he resting in God's hands.

So sorry to hear of the loss of my Uncle Bob, he was a great guy and family man.  RIP Uncle.
