It was love at first sight for Jose. They were both very young when he first saw her. Soon he learned Rosa spent her afternoons sitting outside on her porch embroidering. He would drive by her house often to get a glimpse of the beautiful girl who captivated his heart. It took seven years of courtship before she said yes to marriage. This September, they would have celebrated 50 years of their amazing union. Rosa was a wonderful loving wife and mother, who gave her all to her family. The space left behind by her will never be filled.
Rosa was the matriarch of an extended family. She was called mom or grandma by many. A generous soul, always demonstrating unconditional love. An avid reader, who especially enjoyed love poems. She was gifted in her cooking that always carried that special ingredient and was talented in the arts of knitting and crocheting, which she enjoyed sharing with those around her.
Those left to cherish her memory are, husband, Jose Magallanes; daughters, Lizbeth Magallanes Barcenas and Jaqueline Magallanes; grandchildren, Damian and Rosa Angelina; and a host of other family members and friends.
