When I first heard about Ms Ruth it was in reference to Ashleys Grandma.My daughter had a new friend on our street and we started hearing more and more about the Sabbath. Being raised Catholic these customs were new to us. My daughter would come home saying we have to clean our house Mom its the Sabbath. Once I met Ruth I couldnt help but admire her for her strength and closeness to God. Walking into her greatroom for the first time I felt a warmth and love for family. People come into your life for a reason I believe and since I had just lost my Dad two years prior I know our two families were destined to meet. To Fred, Beth and Ashley you served your wife, mother and grandmother well.God Bless all of you and your family members and most of all Ruth. A crazy weekend of fun!!
My favorite fun memory was of one weekend a long time ago...me and Dana lived in the mobile in Winchester. Fred and Ruth came out for the weekend and late Friday night we decided to go have some fun and drive around in the dune buggy. At one point Ruth and Ms. Avery went driving down Leon road. As Ruth was driving back, she and Ms. Avery were laughing and driving crazy, there was some sort of electrical short from all the vibration. Next thing you know the headlights went out just as they were coming to the curve in the road. Well Ruth drove straight through the fence and the buggy stalled. We all ran down the road to save them and all we could hear was them laughing so hard! The next day was rainy and we stayed in. That night we had cabin fever and were on our next adventure. Dana drove the dune buggy with Ruth and Ms. Avery as passengers. I followed in our 4x4 truck. We went to Todd and Linda's house to visit and then off to the races.. As we were heading to the riverbed there was a HUGE/DEEP mud puddle. I remembered and veered to the left, Dana confused about where I was going forgot and drove right into it. Thinking quickly as they were sinking Dana slams it into gear and the dune buggy shot out spraying mud everywhere. Ms. Avery was sitting on the back ledge of the buggy and received most of the mud shower. As she was screaming she was hitting Ruth in the head...she never could figure out why Ms Avery was hitting her in the head but said the headache was well worth it! Memories of the ranch...there are so many, but this one was a memorable weekend!

I look forward to seeing you in Heaven... Your face beaming with the Love that you have always shown us.... I look forward to the day we will all be together again. Love you!

May the wind of love blow softly on the quiet and peaceful spot where the one we love is sleeping and will never be forgotten. Though her smile is gone forever and her hand we cannot touch, we will never lose memories of the one we loved so much.

Fun times!
My favorite childhood memories are shared with my Precious Aunt. She would spend hours styling the hair of her daughters and nieces....never complaining. We all enjoyed the new hairdos and felt beautiful because of her efforts and indulgence. I still have the pictures! I also remember her cranking up the car stereo while we were listening to the Coasters singing Charlie Brown and having her crank the volume right when the words "why's everybody always pickin on me" came on. I remember learning the Mashed Potato dance and enjoying many others. Letting us wash her car and then letting us drive as a reward... Those were fun days... But the best were sitting in her living room at sundown, starting the Sabbath with her reading from Ellen G. White and singing hymns. Her love for God was unwavering and her life was a constant testimony. I replay those wonderful times over and over in my head. I will miss her, but will look forward to the day when we are all together again.

The inscription on mom's headstone will read "Till we meet again." Just for you Aunt Peggy.

One of my greatest blessings was to have a sister like Ruth. My life was made more complete because of our friendship through our youth and throughout all the past 65 years. Together we shared laughs, tears, joys, sorrows, and our love for Jesus. If I wasn't babysitting for her, she was babysitting for me and so we loved one another's children, too. Her beautiful smile was such a priceless treasure and she would always laugh at the problems that came her way. She is now, like the Bible teaches, asleep, awaiting the trumpet call and the voice of Jesus to call us all home with the shout of "Awake and Sing all ye who sleep in the dust!" Ruth once asked her grandaughter, Jade, what Jesus would shout when He comes again to call us home. Jade, about 1 1/2 years old, scrunched her little brow to recall the words her grandma had taught her and her face lit up when she remembered. "Goooood Mornnning!! she said." Yes, Jade! It will be a good morning. You got the translation perfect. And I for one can't wait to see my sister on that day!
