Samuel Perez

Samuel Perez Sr., at 65 years old, passed away on Sunday, December 20th, 2015 at his home 23100 Sonnet Drive Moreno Valley, CA. He was born on August 30th, 1950 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Serafin and Rosa Maria Reyes Perez.

Samuel grew up in Manhattan, New York. He graduated from Riverside Adult Education in Riverside, California March 4, 1998. After graduation SAMUEL:

Joined the Army from Dec. 29th 1968 at age 18 to Sept. 14th 1969. Samuel fought for our country in the Vietnam War during this time. He was discharged with Other Than Honorable Conditions at the rank of Pvt. E-1. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Sam attended Riverside Community College and San Bernardino College in pursuit of a career as an Ultrasound Technician and Radiologist. Sam began to lose his sight due to Diabetes. Sam retired with disability benefits. He then was able to concentrate on his hobbies such as watching sports (baseball and basketball) were his favorites. He also loved music. He liked a large variety of music from salsa, jazz, oldies, gospel and even some country.

Samuel was married to Christina in 2002 in Moreno Valley, CA. They were happily married for 13 years. He was a member of the Harvest Church Riverside and Oasis Church in Moreno Valley.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father Serafin (Pin) and Brother Raymond (Monchi).

Samuel is survived by his spouse Christina, 99yr old mother, Rosa; sons, Samuel Perez Jr. and Michael & (Christina) Perez; stepsons, Eugene John & (Amanda) Bartlett and Eugene Robert Bartlett; sisters, Damaris & (James) Jents; brother, David & (Iris) Perez; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan, Esmerelda, Adrian, Anthony, Julissa, Dominic, Nathan, Ethan, Alexia, Grant, Jakob and Adelynn and niece and nephews, Dominic, Canti, Roger, Nicole, David, David Jesus and James.

Samuel was a loving and kindhearted man to all he had the privilege of knowing. May his smile warm the memories of all that came to know him.
