Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2019 at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California; he was born on November 28, 1930 in Lynden, Washington to the late Julius and Anna (Van Dalen) Vander Meer.
Van served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953 in the US Army. He worked as an electrical repairman with Southern California Edison for 31 years. He enjoyed car racing, fishing and traveling with his wife, where
they visited over 32 countries in their travels.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sharlene; his loving children and their families, Sherry Davis, KenVander Meer and Gloria Choma; six grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will be a private family graveside service with military honors on October 17.
