Sara Jean Ross

Sara Jean Ross was born Monday, May 20, 1940 in Alexander City, Alabama. She was the daughter of Robert and Jennie Eva Funderburk. She was the second child born of seven, and was raised in Nashville, Georgia. She married Lowell in 1962; they lived in the Los Angeles area for a great part of their lives relocating to Riverside County in1995. Sara was a kind, loving and gentle person and was known for giving more of herself than giving to herself. She was truly the rock of her family. For 34 years Jean had her own housecleaning business. One of her talents was being able to clean anything. It was said that if cleanliness was next to Godliness then she would be sitting in his lap. Her hobbies included, spending time with family and friends and gardening, she was known for having not only a "green thumb" but a "green hand". Jean had a good foundation in the Lord. She loved Him with all her heart. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Church. In the recent days Jean would simply say " I'm ready to go home"; knowing that she would see her saviors face, be free from the heart ache and pain of this world and reunited with her loved ones who went on before her. It brought her such comfort. She was very near and dear to those that remain, and they will cherish her memory. On Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in San Jacinto, California Jean went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years Lowell Bruce Ross; daughter Lisa Ann Ross; parents Robert and Jennie; siblings, Reg Funderburk, Tom Funderburk and Leon Funderburk. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Meyer; son in law, David Meyer; grandsons, DJ Petersen and Daniel Meyer; brothers, Jim Funderburk and Joseph Funderburk; sister, Patty Throgmorton; brother-in-law Jerry Throgmorton; sister-in-laws Mary Funderburk and Pat Funderburk; numerous nieces and nephews; dearest friend, Lynda McDonald; loved ones and friends.

A visitation will be held from 2:00pm - 3:00pm followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Miller-Jones Perris Mortuary located at 1835 N. Perris Blvd Perris, California 92571. Interment will be privately held at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
