Theresa Hamel

Theresa Eugenie Hamel, 89, of Hemet, California passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. She was born on August 5, 1929 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Anna Guy and spent her childhood and young adult years in Montreal, Québec Canada. Theresa was married to the love of her life, Alcide R Hamel, for 42 wonderful years until his passing in June 2013. Theresa was a very devout Catholic and loved her church, Our Lady of the Valley. She was known for her volunteer work there and could be counted on for every event. Theresa organized prayer groups, recited the Rosary and was a Eucharistic Minister administering communion to those church members who were homebound. She touched the lives of many and was cherished by her church community. Her faith meant everything to her. Theresa carried her Rosary everywhere and was inspirational with her faith to others. She loved her family very much. Her family describes her as very giving with a big heart and having a great sense of humor with a sharp wit. Theresa will be missed by all that knew her and loved her. Surviving is her niece Sally Wells ( David); Lisa Helms (Andy); Linda Calka ( Mike ); Christine James ( Jeff ); Nicole Huard ( Art ); nephew Mark Guy ( Kori ); Paul Guy ( Vanessa ); Fernand Hamel ( Helene ) with 13 great nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Fernande Hamel. A Rosary will be held at McWane Chapel, 350 N. San Jacinto St, Hemet CA 92543 on May 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM. A memorial service will be at Our Lady of the Valley, 790 S. State Street, Hemet CA 92543 on May 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Cemetery services will be at St Elie D' Orford Cemetery Québec Canada at a later date.
