Mr. William John Townsend, 61 of Hemet, California passed on Monday, August 13, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. He grew up in Oceanside and learned to surf when he was young and never stopped. You could find him on the waves many weekends. William also was an expert mechanic and loved to work on muscle cars. He worked on many during his life time and had a special fondness to the 1966 Chevelle. William played the guitar and enjoyed playing video games with his son Michael and his grand children. His family describes him as generous, kind, giving, loving and he was known to share his opinion.
Surviving are son, Michael Castillo of Hemet, CA, brothers, Robert Townsend and Gary Townsend; 3 grand daughters Nicole, Michelle, and Courtney and 2 great grand children.
