Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1936, he served as an Air Force Airplane Technician in Okinawa, Japan until July 25, 1957.
Moving from Philly to Las Vegas in the ‘60’s, Al opened several automotive shops and drinking establishments. Main St. Phillips ’66 Gas Station; Desert Hills Foreign Car Service; Regency Lounge; Peace Pipe. He was a Service Manager in Automotive and Tire Shops, over the years; finally retiring from Jeff’s Automotive Service in Las Vegas.
A member of the Silver State Obedience Club, he trained and showed Wolfhounds & Afghan Hounds in a Vegas, Nevada and in nearby states. Eventually forming Angel’s Alley Assistance Dogs for handicapped children in 2000, his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife Sara Hayden Luker; his sister, Natalie Wechsler; niece, Ferne Cohen; two stepsons, James & Jeffery Nelson; five children and five grandchildren.
