Today is July 31, and I just found out that Bonnie has died.  I am so very sad .  Bonnie and I had a lot of history together in our early lives.  Our parents became good friends.  Bonnie and I were avid White Sox fans as young girls.  Her favorite player was Nellie Fox.  We roomed together in Denver right out of college, and were in each other’s weddings.  I have many fond memories of her and all the Deans.  Her dad, Don, was a favorite of Bonnie’s friends. He was a coach of our girls’ summer softball team.  Of course, Bonnie was definitely one of the stars.  I can still see her pitching.  I also remember going to her grandma and grandpa’s lake place and staying in the bunk house 
there.  I know you all will miss her terribly.  She was such a special lady.

Few years back, our Holland Family had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie on one of her trips to Sandpoint to visit Todd. She was delightful! We went by boat to our unfinished cabin on the Lake with no plumbing. There was not a single peep of a complaint when shown the outhouse. On heels of this Mother’s Day, I’d like to tribute Bonnie for her sensibility & thirst for fun that I saw in her & instilled in her 2 precious sons.

I had the great honor and privilege of knowing Bonnie since 1988. She was always welcoming and warm to me and made feel like part of the Sayre family.  Over years she never missed a chance to ask about my kids or parents and really listened when we would talk.  Her and Buck took me and Todd to Packer vs Bear game in Chicago and I remember it like yesterday.  She cheered and booed right along with us and felt the sting of defeat as much as we did. Over the last several years I have been able to visit with Bonnie as I traveled for work, and every visit made me laugh.  I was lucky enough to spend time with her in these last few months and she was still sharp as a tack even as her body was failing her.
I am very grateful to have called Bonnie a friend, my family and I are grieving for her.   Her determination and spirit is something I strive to repeat for myself.  She was an inspiration.

I will miss Bonnie, always, but especially on game day on my yearly trip to see the raiders with Todd and Suzanne.  The first game I went to with Bonnie (the first year for the raiders in Vegas), we were walking to the stadium and Bonnie grabs my arm and says “come with me” and she takes us to the handi-cap/ADA entrance and since Bonnie had just had a crash while speed walking she used that to our advantage and she got us in right away no waiting and no line! Also now I don’t have to take second place to your ncaa bracket anymore!  

I will miss you Bonnie you were a great lady!!

To the Sayre and Dean Families,
As the mother-in-law to our oldest daughter, Emily, Bonnie will always be remembered for her warm friendship, caring spirit, and faithful presence to everyone who knew her and especially to Henry, and William as a wonderful Grandma. I'm so glad she was able to take numerous vacation trips to far-off fun places to create special memories for everyone. I mourn her passing and celebrate her faithful life sharing her many talents with others. She remains a heartfelt inspiration in her legacy to the entire family. I will remember her and pray that all will be comforted by God's abundant mercy and grace to bring peace and eventual joy as you celebrate her life together.

As a Co-Grandparent of two wonderful young men and Mother to a beloved son-in-law, we were blessed in knowing dear Bonnie.  We admired her happy smile, wonderful grace and love of life.  She has been in a better place with her devoted husband, Buck for two months now and I am sure they both are smiling down on the Robert Sayre family.
We pray for comfort to Bob, Todd, Emily, Henry & William as mourn her loss.   God, bless the Sayre Family.
