

In loving memory of Curtis Brown who passed away on June 1, 2020 in Boulder City, Nevada. Curtis was born in Meridian Mississippi on May 3, 1929. He is a proud Army Veteran who fought in the Korean War. He was awarded The Army Presidential Unit Citation Medal for exceptional heroism in action. Following the war, Curtis moved to Staten Island, New York where he met and married his wife Ruby Thompson. Curtis devoted the next fifty years working with the mentally handicapped at Willowbrook State School, Staten Island, New York. He was Deacon at St. Phillips Baptist Church for decades. Curtis Brown spent his professional and spiritual life helping others. He was a good man with a pure heart. His kindness and personal warmth touched all who knew him.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife Ruby who passed away in 2011. He is survived by his two daughters, Beverly and Patricia, six grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Curtis will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife Ruby at Fairview Cemetery, Staten Island, New York. A memorial service in Curtis’s memory is being planned to take place in the fall at St. Phillips Baptist Church, Staten Island, New York. He will always be loved and missed.
