We are here in remembrance of Dixie Haberman. Dixie was born on April 21st 1939, in Houston, Texas. However, it wasn’t long after being born that due to the lack of work in Texas and the opportunities in other states, she found herself a young girl living in a small town called Seligman, Arizona. The stories that she would tell about living in a small ranching and railroad town will always be a part of how many of her friends and family will always remember her by. She says that she was the toughest, meanest girl in that town and that she had to be to survive there. Dixie loved sports, especially fast pitch softball and yes, as you can guess, she was a very good player. Somehow along the way and with a few extra stops, she ended up in Henderson, Nevada, the town that she would eventually call home and choose to raise her family in. Dixie called Henderson her home up until her final passing on May 6th 2015. Like all families that struggle to get through a tough situation or the passing of a loved one, family members have to lean on each other and we are no different. Dixie Haberman leaves behind, her husband, our dad, Allan Haberman, as well as 3 children. Dixie has a son, Robert Hash, daughter, Chaquetta Griffin and daughter, Corina Powers as well as having 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. We, as a family and friends will always remember her in our own special way. It might be at Holiday times when we have our family gatherings like in the past or maybe it’s watching a baseball or softball game and you know she would be commentating about the plays or the players. It might be when you buy something that you know you didn’t need and couldn’t really afford but you bought it any ways, she would really let you know what she thought. Mom, we all love you, we know that you are in a better place and we promise to keep our family together like you would have wanted.
