

Edward Archie Greer, 96, of Boulder City, died peacefully in his sleep on 5/20/2016. He was born August, 1919 in Denver, CO, the second of four children born to John and Empress Greer. Ed is survived by 4 of his 5 children - sons Dave (Jan), Bob (Sandy), Steve (Becky) and daughter Barb (Ron). He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth (Betty) and by their son, John. Ed and Betty were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Ed graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in mechanical engineering later receiving a P.E. certification. Ed was a WWII veteran and was awarded a bronze star for his service in North Africa and Italy. Ed and Betty made their home in Aurora, IL and Casper Wyoming before moving their family to Boulder City in 1963 - taking a job with the Clark County School District . He ended his career at CCSD in November, 1987, retiring as Associate Superintendent for the Business and Finance Division. His long service to the district was honored by having the CCSD administration building named for him. Once retired he worked at UNLV and New York Life. His also had a great passion for his work with a prison ministry in Las Vegas where he conducted weekly Bible studies, sharing his love of the Lord. Ed found his greatest joy during the many family gatherings but was happiest with a fishing pole or an ice cream cone in his hand. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 4th, at Bethany Baptist Church in Boulder City.
