

If anyone ever cared, really cared for someone else it would have to be Emerson Wadsworth Walker III. He was a warm hearted and well liked person, someone who was always making certain that those around him had whatever they needed.
Emerson was born at Charity Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. He was the son of Emerson Jr. and Gloria Walker. Emerson was raised in Orlando, Florida. He had one older sister; Gloria, and one younger sister, Wanda; and one older brother; Danny. During his childhood he learned to be reliable and respectful.
Emerson found it easy to perform acts of kindness. These admirable qualities would become an important part of Emerson’s personality throughout his life.
Emerson was very observant and was generally quick at learning new things. He graduated from Oakridge High School in 1974. He continued his education, attending Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida.
All of Emerson’s family and friends know that he could talk to anybody about anything. While he maintained personal standards and his own personal values, Emerson was accepting of others. He was trustworthy and loyal to those he loved. When Emerson made friends, he made true and lasting friendships. While growing up some of his best friends were Kim Hunter, Lawrence Sparrow, and Jimmy Dixon. Later in life, he became friends with Chris James, Chuck Knight and Ashley Jordan.
Emerson was a faithful and loving person. On July 24, 1981, Emerson married Margaret “Yvonne” Rutledge in a civil wedding in Homestead, Florida. Compassionate and devoted, Emerson was blessed with two children, a son, Adrian; and a daughter, Keeley. They were also blessed with four grandchildren; Jaleel, Adrian Jr., Kenley and Romaan.
Emerson was an Air Force veteran serving in England, South Dakota, and Louisiana. Through his hard work and dedication, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received countless awards including two accommodations medals. Emerson was also a military spouse for over 20 years, while pursuing his military career as a reservist.
Taking pride in his work came naturally to Emerson and he was always a team player. His primary occupation was an IT technician. He was employed for over 15 years at Nellis Air Force Base, bringing harmony and humor to his work environment. Emerson took pride in constantly putting forth his best effort and continued to do so after retiring from Nellis, in his support role with the Clark County School District.
Religion and faith were important to Emerson. In adulthood, he was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he enjoyed Sunday fellowship for over a decade.
Emerson passed away on November 26, 2021 at North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his children, mother of his children, grandchildren, and his siblings. Services performed by Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary. Emerson’s final resting place is Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
Emerson was down to earth and enjoyed the company of others. He would do anything to make someone smile or laugh. When you think of the fond memories that you have of him, hopefully you’ll do the same. Everyone whose life Emerson touched will truly miss him.
A visitation for Emerson will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Funeral services will begin 2:00 PM both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Military Honors follow at 3:00 PM. Emerson will be laid to rest privately at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City, NV 89005.
