Estrella Dizon Tanglao

Estrella Dizon Tanglao, age 82, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was born in 1943 in Capas, Tarlac, Philippines, and was the 5th eldest of 8 siblings. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science from Far Eastern University. She immigrated to America in 1970 and settled in New York City. She worked as an Information Technology Project Manager in corporate America. While in New York, Estrella went on to complete her Master's in Arts and Science from New York University.

Estrella had a deep appreciation for the arts and culture and often introduced her nieces and nephews to Broadway plays and the abundant museums in NYC. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, traveling, and gardening. She had a love of reading, especially mystery and spy novels. She traveled with her sisters to places like the Philippines, Niagara falls, Canada and up and down the eastern seaboard.

In 2006, she moved across the country to Henderson, Nevada. She lived the majority of her life quietly in Henderson and enjoyed tending to her garden and talking with her nieces and nephews from the east coast. Estrella was deeply religious and a devout Catholic. She believed in the power of prayer and often attended mass and prayed for her entire family. During the pandemic, she continued her Catholic faith by attending the masses on broadcast TV. Also during the pandemic, Estrella became a “prepper” acquiring emergency flashlights, supplies, legal tender and coins in case the government & banking system collapsed. She was never a person to be caught un-prepared for any life situation.

Estrella leaves behind one brother and two sisters and many nieces and nephews who hold wonderful memories of Estrella’s kindness and generosity.

A funeral mass for Estrella will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052.
