Felicitas was born on February 18, 1937 at a hospital in Orani, Bataan, Philippines to her parents Pablo Sr. and Felicidad Rubio. Felicitas had a playful good humor, an outgoing personality, a lively imagination, and a mellowed enthusiasm for life. As a child, she enjoyed playing dress up with her childhood friends Ellen and Willie, and spending time with her family. she was a good student, and graduated from Torres High School, in the Philippines.
In 1979, Felicitas migrated to the United States, where she later became a citizen. In 1984, she met the love of her life, Marcial, and they were married at a small wedding chapel ceremony in Reno, Nevada. Through their union, the couple blended their lives together and began a life of adventure. She was always sensitive to other people’s feelings, and that was especially true in her marriage: loving and cherishing her relationship with Marcial's five children as her own. As the family grew, the couple were blessed with four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Her family was rounded out by their four-legged Maltese, Jay-Jay.
To help support her family, Felicitas worked for many years in the hotel industry. Her primary occupation was working as a supervisor in housekeeping, where through hard work and dedication, she was employed for 20 years at Stanford Court.
Felicitas was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved being active in her church, cooking and spending time with her family, shopping, watching her Novellas on the television, and playing Mah Jong. Felicitas was also something of a sports fan. She liked to bowl and enjoyed watching boxing. In addition, Felicitas was naturally curious about other parts of the world and loved the real life adventure that came from visiting them. Her favorite vacations included trips to the Philippines, Hawaii, and New York.
Felicitas believed that you had to experience life, and her life in retirement was no different. When that day finally arrived in 1999, Felicitas took it in stride as one more way to have fun. Her new life involved relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. With her boundless energy and a desire to get the most out of life, Felicitas remained busy with people and projects. In retirement, she found new pleasure in being active in her church, spending time with her family, watching television and Facebook. Even in retirement, Felicitas continued to stay in touch with her old friends and, since she'd never met a stranger, she made plenty of new acquaintances as well.
Felicitas was preceded in death by her father, Pablo Rubio Sr.; mother, Felicidad Villafuerte; and brother, Paul Rubio. She is survived by her husband, Marcial; children: Marilou, Edwin (Charito), Nelson (Jocelyn), Hector Jr., and Marife; sister, Evelyn; sister-in-law, Julita; four grandchildren: Edward, Genevieve, Marifel, and Kurt; and three great grandchildren: Eldwrich Angel, Euward Andre and Joseph Zion.
Felicitas brought joy to all of those around her. She never had a mean bone in her body. She loved to have a good time and was an eternal optimist, always looking on the bright side of things. She loved to share her energy, wit, and her zest for all of her activities with her friends and family.
