

Hal was born on April 24, 1952 in Missoula, Montana, to Victor and Rosemary (Stowe) Grace and grew up alongside his siblings, Kathy and Steve. At age six, his family moved to Spokane, Washington, where he attended local schools and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1970. After high school, he served in the Air Force and with the Air National Guard.
He continued his education at Spokane Community College, earning an Associate of Science degree in Aviation with A&P and Avionics licensing, specialized training in aircraft engines and flight systems, and an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration.
Hal built a distinguished career in aviation, working for Alaska Airlines and Nordstrom's Flight Department in Seattle, as well as General Dynamics Aviation Services in Henderson, Nevada. He later served as Director of Maintenance for Alpine Cascade Corporation before founding his own company, Grace Aviation Maintenance & Consulting. He also taught at AIMS Aviation School and, after retiring from Aviation, worked as a Crossing Guard Supervisor until fully retiring.
Hal was a devoted and loving husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He embraced his extended family as his own and cherished the close-knit family life he had always wanted. Known for his warm personality, he could talk with anyone and was always wiling to help others.
He was truly loving, compassionate, and generous man- the love of my life- and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In a heartfelt-tribute, Darylee shared her promise to meet him again one day and said he will always be my "forever Valentine."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Rosemary (Stowe) Grace, and sibling Kathy (Grace) Frey and her husband Stephen Frey.
He is survived by Mary Darylee (Petrusha) Fettkether; Tammy (Fettkether) McCarthy; Grandchildren Cayla (McCarthy) Gregory and Jesse Gregory, Taylor Fettkether, Taylor's daughters Hal's and Great-Granddaughters, Lily and Haley Jo.
He is also survived by his brother, Steven Grace and his significant other, Betty Schlemmer; nieces Lisa Frey, Stephanie (Frey) and husband, Darin Hoffman, along with their children Jonathan Gregg and Alyssa Gregg and Reilly Hoffman; a nephew Brian Frey and his daughter, Ellis and son, Peyton.
Hal passed away February 14, 2026 surrounded by his family after several surgeries for a brain bleed. He will forever be missed for the joy and laughter he brought to everyone he met.
A Celebration of Life for Hal will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM in the hall at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church 204 S. Boulder Highway Henderson, Nevada 89015.
