Harold Gove, 79, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6th, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on July 13, 1945, in Cañon City, Colorado. Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion, who passed away in 2021. They were married on December 25, 1976, and shared 44 wonderful years together.
Harold is survived by their three children: Lisa (Charles) Beicker (54), Darrin (Christine) Gove (51), and Glenn (Lori) Gove (46), as well as his cherished grandsons, Tristen (Nikayta) and Ashton Beicker.
After a long and fulfilling career, Harold retired in 2019 after serving as a Grocery Store Manager at Albertsons, where he particularly enjoyed his time at the Boulder City location. Harold was a dependable, loyal, and dedicated employee who formed lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers. Prior to his time at Albertsons, he spent over 20 years as a long-haul truck driver for State Stove, traveling part of the country, and had years of experience with MGM stores, RC Willey, Ryder Truck, and Tezak Heavy Equipment.
In recent months, Harold pursued his dream of traveling by acquiring a truck and camper, which allowed him to explore the great outdoors. He enjoyed camping in places like Zion and Beaver, Utah, Lake Mead, Nevada, and Colorado. He treasured spending time with his grandsons, especially during a memorable trip to Lake City, Colorado, this past summer. Harold loved hiking, kayaking, gardening, and taking in nature's beauty. His proudest recent gardening accomplishment was growing pumpkins at his sister and brothers-in-law's property, a passion that reminded him of his earlier years in Colorado. Harold was inseparable from his adored dog, Scruffy, who accompanied him everywhere.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn (Dorothy) Gove, and his older brother, Howard (Verna) Gove. Harold is survived by his sisters: Barbara (Jerry Anderson) Hudson, Audry (Loyd) Price, and Donna (Rick) Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday, January, 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015 with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice or the American Cancer Association in Harold’s honor.
