

James Willie Montgomery Jr. was born on August 7, 1941in Altheimer, Arkansas. He brought to this world a love of family, generosity, strength and courage capable of deep enrichment. His life was not apart from the wisdom and love of God.
James had an accomplished and gratifying career, an abundance of great achievements and a wealth of hobbies. James was a Sergeant in the U.S Army 801st Battalion, a Cook County Sherriff's Law Enforcement Officer, an actor, a bowler, a cook, and a traveler. In a word, he was a Humanitarian- having concern for helping to improve the welfare, happiness, and betterment of people at all times.
After moving to Nevada in 2009, James joined into holy matrimony to his sweetheart Vera Mitchell Hosea. To this union, a lifetime of love was shared. James Willie Montgomery Jr. died peacefully surrounded by family on January 23, 2018 in Henderson, Nevada at the age of 76.
Leaving to cherish his loving memories are his devoted wife, Vera; devoted children: James Elliott Montgomery, Patricia J. Montgomery-Echols (Deondre L. Echols), Mona Laseter, Jennifer Ford (James Ford), Anthony Lenert, Clarence Hosea (Dana Hosea), Will Hosea (Via Hosea); his grandchildren: Ryan Montgomery Foster and Robyn Jovan Echols. James was also blessed with twelve other grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving relatives and friends. James is preceded in death by his father James William Montgomery Sr., his mother Bernice Montgomery
and his brother Roosevelt Montgomery.
