

Jeanie Potter; a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and miss Kitty. Born on April 25, 1944, in Boulder City, NV, Jeanie grew up cherishing life’s simple joys and building a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness.
In 1953, Jeanie and her family moved to Henderson, Nevada, where she spent the next 70 years creating a life filled with laughter, resilience, and meaningful connections. For 28 years, she worked at Levi Strauss, where her dedication and hard work were matched by her ability to form lasting friendships.
Jeanie was a true nurturer, dedicating her heart and soul to raising her three children: Laurie Jean Mobbs, Michael Douglas Reber, and Michelle Mathewson. She instilled in them the values of compassion, perseverance, and an appreciation for the world’s beauty. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother brought her immeasurable joy, and her family was the heart of her world.
Known for her sharp wit and wicked one-liners, Jeanie had a way of lightening the mood and bringing laughter wherever she went. Her sense of humor, both clever and kind, was one of her many gifts to those who knew her. Whether sharing a story or playfully teasing her loved ones, Jeanie’s humor was a reminder not to take life too seriously.
Jeanie’s passions extended to all living things. She had a lifelong love for animals, especially her many cherished cats. She also adored collecting crystals, finding beauty and energy in their unique forms. Her home sparkled with their vibrant colors, reflecting her care and attentiveness. She delighted in sharing their meanings and marveling at their natural elegance.
Among her closest friends, Jeanie found happiness in her cherished "Moonies" gatherings. These evenings of laughter, camaraderie, and heartfelt conversations were a testament to the enduring bonds she formed throughout her life.
Jeanie is survived by her children Laurie Jean Mobbs (David) and Michelle Mathewson (Phillip Cowan); her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings; and a wide circle of friends who became family. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Douglas Reber and her siblings: Patsy, Jim (Doc), LaVern, and Alan.
A celebration of life for Jeanie will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Henderson, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the incredible woman who touched so many lives. Jeanie Potter’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and the power of humor and connection. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
