John Leo "Jack" Barton, age 74, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. Jack was born on November 9, 1949 in St. George, Utah. He graduated from Basic High School and received his Iron Workers degree from Provo Vocational School. He met and married Vickie Marie Clayson on June 9, 1967.
Jack had a career as an ironworker for Local 433 for many years and many foreman assignments until his retirement. He had a strong passion for hunting, fishing, boating, and being outdoors.
Jack was generous to a fault. He was always sharing what he had and always willing to help a friend. His family and friends always felt loved and special. Jack expressed his love with a hug and an arm around the shoulder. Both his best and worst quality was his determination (or stubbornness). Sometimes our best asset can also be our greatest weakness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lola Barton, and two of his sisters; Joyce Bennett and Shirley Gibson. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Garcia; his granddaughters, Alyssa Ochoa and Savannah Ochoa; and his great grandchildren, Adrian Guizan and Molly Guizan.
Services will be held June 6 at Cholla St. Chapel, 303 S. Cholla St, Henderson, NV 89015. Visitation begins at 1:00pm with service beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will take place on June 7 at Panguitch City Cemetery, in Panguitch, Utah.
