It is with saddened hearts that we announce that John "Jack" Thomas Dyling, 80 of Henderson, Nevada passed away on January 1, 2023 surrounded throughout the week by friends and loved ones. Jack was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on January 11, 1942 to Raymond Dyling and Helen Debow.
Jack spent his youth living in Niles, Ohio and graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1960. Soon thereafter, Jack joined the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed at a variety of bases including: Germany (for two tours), Nebraska, and Nellis AFB in Nevada. Jack was proud to have served during the Vietnam War. Jack worked as a Ground Radio Communication Technician and was awarded numerous military honors including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon, Longevity Service Award, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross. Jack retired in 1982 as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. After his honorable discharge from active duty, he continued to work over the next 18 years at EG&G “Special Projects” as an Electronic Technician, retiring in 2000.
Jack enjoyed life to the fullest; traveling to Ohio to visit family (especially for family reunions), boating, fishing, motorcycling, listening/dancing to country music, and collecting cars (lots of them). He enjoyed telling stories about his past adventures (mostly military) and loved to make new friends wherever he traveled. Jack loved visiting Germany to see family and friends. Friends from Germany were astonished at his ability to speak German so eloquently. He loved animals and enjoyed taking his dogs (Brandy, Rambo, and Susie) to the lake whenever he could. Jack was an excellent handy-man and could fix and repair just about anything. Anyone who knew Jack would describe him as jovial, fun-loving, and warm. He had a big heart and often helped others. Jack’s greatest love; however, was being with family especially his daughter, Sabina, and his two grandkids, Anthony and Samira. Jack loved entertaining family and friends and showing them the sights around Las Vegas. His light-hearted playfulness and ability to love will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

DeBow; and grandmother, Elizabeth Totten DeBow; mother, Helen DeBow Booth; father, Raymond Dennis Dyling; brother, Raymond Dyling (Ann) of Niles, Ohio; sister, Debbie Dyling Wunderlich of Mill Valley, California; brother-in-law, Harold Luscombe of Vienna Township, Ohio; sister, Betty Feehly (Wayne) of Perryville, Maryland; sister, Frances Schneider of Elkton, Maryland; brother Martin Magaw (Doris) of Elkton, Maryland; sister, Ruth Ann Magaw of Elkton, Maryland.
