Joshua Daniel Benavidez

Joshua Daniel Benavidez was born September 27, 1989 in Henderson, Nevada to David and LuAnn Benavidez. Joshua leaves behind his father David Benavidez; mother LuAnn Smith; stepmother Cindy Benavidez; stepfather Vernon Smith; brothers Matthew and Luke Benavidez, half brothers and sisters Nathan, Joel, Samuel, Mylee and Maycee Benavidez, and stepbrothers Jesse and Josh Smith. Joshua lost his life on May 22, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joshua loved life and people. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. He could work a crowd and makes friends with everyone in the room. He had a loving heart and a willingness to help others. Joshua's elementary school years were spent at Gordon McCaw Elementary, where he made many friends that he kept throughout his life. His middle school years were spent at Burkholder Middle School, where he enjoyed P.E. and basketball. His high school years were at Foothill High School, where he played basketball and tennis. While at Foothill, Joshua excelled at tennis, winning third in regionals his senior year. Joshua graduated from Foothill High School in 2008. Joshua was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was also an Eagle Scout. Joshua had many ambitions in life, but his life was cut way too short. Joshua will be remembered as being a loving, fun, and kind son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.
