Judith A. Glennie, age 84, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning December 25, 2025, at her home in Henderson, NV surrounded by family and her dog, Kirby. This was possible with the help of Nathan Adelson Hospice. Judy, as she was referred to by family and friends, fought a long and courageous battle with multiple health issues, pain, and dementia.
She was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin on March 15, 1941, the daughter of Archie and Betty (Hurd) George. She grew up and graduated High School in 1959 from Janesville, Wisconsin. Afterwards, she graduated from Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Rockford, Illinois. As a new Registered Nurse and excited to be out on her own, Judy and several classmates ventured to Dallas, Texas in 1962 where she worked at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Missing her Wisconsin roots, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she met her husband, Robert J. Glennie. They were married from July 22,1967 until 2007 but remained friends till the end. They raised their family in Oregon, Wisconsin, spending many memorable days at Fish Lake. Their son had severe asthma and allergies, and his doctor recommended that they move to a dry climate. So, in 1983, the family chose to move west to Boulder City, Nevada.
This move inspired a second career for Judy. While her kids were still in school, she studied and passed the exam to become a Certified Financial Planner. This was a new and exciting professional career where she remained until her retirement in 2008.
She spent her life devoted to family with love, empathy, support, and encouragement. A deeply caring mother, grandmother, and friend, Judy was known for her warmth, patience, and selfless nature. Her greatest joy came from being with her family. She also enjoyed swimming, dancing, listening to the Bee Gees, watching movies, especially science fiction, playing card & dice games, reading David Balducci novels, and solving sudoku. She will be remembered for her unconditional love she gave so freely.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Judy is survived by her ex-husband, Robert Glennie, her daughter, Sheila Glennie, her son, Ronald (Shannon) Glennie, and her grandson, Logan Glennie.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary & Cemetery in Henderson, NV. The burial will be at Boulder City Cemetery on January 23, 2026. A Celebration of Life is being planned for her birthday, March 15, 2026. Family, friends, or anyone who knew her or the family are invited to attend the memorial service and/or the Celebration of Life.
