Kenneth Wayne Ballard, age 65, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born October 23, 1955 in Prince George County, Maryland to his parents Robert and Ellen Ballard. He was the big brother to four sisters: Lorna, Robin, Barbara & Terry; they lovingly referred to him as the "Brother Bear". Kenneth graduated High School and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army.
Kenneth was man that was truly devoted to his family. He cared deeply for his mother on a daily basis. She was always a priority to him, and he never let her down. Kenneth was a loving and proud father to his daughter Melissa. His love for her was truly unconditional; they did not always see eye to eye; but always heart to heart. He was also a stepdad, to Brad; and was a consistent friend and support to him throughout his life. Kenneth was a nephew and described as always being a jokester and a fun loving happy guy. He was "Uncle Ken" to all the kids, related or not; he was the fun loving uncle who was known to spoil with treats and unfailingly protect his nieces and nephews. And although he was divorced; Kenneth found a true friendship with his ex wife Linda. Later in life, the two became a support system for one another. If one had a problem, or a surgery, etc. the other was right there to care for them.
Kenneth was a hardworking and honest, sometimes too honest; but, nevertheless, a loyal friend to so many. Without hesitation, he would be the first person there to lend a hand. He was a strong, proud, sometimes tough but always a loving man.
Kenneth's love for animals could never be second guessed, and his bulldog, Parker was proof of his outright love, as he had ken wrapped around his paw. Everyone knew if ken was there, then so was Parker. If little comfort is to be had, it is in knowing that his best friend Parker was there to greet him back into Heaven.
Kenneth demonstrated a strength and perseverance throughout his life, and against all odds, no matter the obstacle, he was determined to never give up without a fight. He would want everyone to celebrate his life and to carry his strength in their hearts as we remember him. Kenneth was taken too soon, but he was away from God for far too long; therefore, our heavenly father took him home . He will forever be the guardian to his family, looking over them and granting the emotional strength and courage to continue on their journeys through life. He will never be forgotten as he was a hero to his family!
