Kevin Noel (Shuster) Smedley, M.S.W., 50, died December 27, 2013 at home with his family in Henderson, NV. A memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, NV. Kevin was born on December 25, 1963 in Santa Rosa, CA to Carroll Millerick and Norman Shuster. Kevin had a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from William’s Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Kevin worked for the Clark County Nevada Department of Family Services as a supervisor in foster family licensing and recruitment. Kevin is survived by his wife, Anna Smedley; his children, Christian Shuster, Michael Smedley, and Noel Smedley; and his brother Matt Wiekel and his family.
Kevin was a passionate advocate for foster families and dedicated his career to working to meet the needs of foster children and families.
