

Kum Soon "Kim" Hogan, 86, of Henderson, NV passed away peacefully at St. Rose Siena Hospital in Henderson on October 19, 2015. She was born on November 1, 1928 in Wonju-Kun, Korea. She was one of ten children born to her father, Yong Woo Kim and her mother, Hyun Sook Lee. She married Larry Hogan and moved to the U.S. Together, they had six kids. Larry decided to make the Army a career and the family embarked on a journey that took them from Korea to Alameda, CA to Germany, to Fort Hood, TX to Las Vegas, NV, to Vietnam, back to Germany and then Fremont, CA while Larry spent another year in Vietnam. After a last assignment in Chatsworth, CA, Larry retired from the Army and he, Kim and the rest of the family moved to Las Vegas where Larry and Kim would spend the rest of their lives. Larry started a second career and Kim focused on raising the kids as best she could. On July 6, 2001, Larry lost his battle with heart and kidney problems and passed away. Kim fell ill in October 2015 and would not recover. She quietly passed away surrounded by her family. She is survived by son Bill Hogan of Las Vegas, NV; son Mike and Suzanne Hogan of Potomac Falls, VA; daughter Sue Costello of Henderson, NV; son Joe Hogan and Serena Surbaugh of Newcastle, OK; son Pete and Jody Hogan of Henderson, NV; and daughter Sandy and Danny Salas of Las Vegas, NV. There are also 13 grand kids, four great-grand kids, and many life-long friends. She was a great Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and was loved and will be missed by all! Services were held November 2, 2015 at Palm Mortuary on 800 S. Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV. Kim was buried alongside Larry at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
