Leonora "Baby" Alfonso

It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Leonora “Baby” Alfonso, age 68, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025 in her home in Henderson, Nevada. Born on June 14, 1957 in Pampanga, Philippines, Baby was the beloved daughter of Alfonso and Elena Alfonso.

Baby, as she was affectionately known, lived a life of generosity and a true devotion to the people she loved. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God.

Baby migrated to the United States from the Philippines in 1991 where she raised her only son in New Jersey. She worked in various positions in the banking industry and rose up the ranks with tenacity and hard work. She was promoted to Assistant Vice President at Blue Foundry Bank, a position she held until she retired in 2020.

Her sense of style was impeccable. A true fashionista, Baby enjoyed shopping and dressed with elegance and sophistication. But more than the clothes that she wore, it was the warmth she extended to others that truly defined her. Baby loved to host and she made sure that her home was always open to others; she delighted in cooking for others and sharing meals with those she loved. Her generosity knew no bounds. Baby also enjoyed traveling with her family. She has been to various countries in Europe and Asia as well as Hawaii and Alaska, a testament to how she would always seek beauty in the world.

Baby is survived by her loving son, Shane Alfonso; daughter-in-law, Ellyn “Ann” Alfonso; grandchildren: Logan and Harlan Alfonso; siblings: Leonila Alfonso, Leandro “Joey” Alfonso, and Leonides “Deck” Alfonso. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who adored her dearly and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Baby is preceded in death by her parents: Alfonso Alfonso and Elena Alfonso as well as her brothers: Librado Alfonso, Leonardo Alfonso, and Leonilo Alfonso.

Though Baby is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in every act of grace, in every shared meal, and in every life she touched.

A visitation for Leonora will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Palm Mortuary Henderson, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, Nevada 89015. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015.
